Ian Guider: Liveline managed to hold AIB to account but the balance of power is with the banks

Over the many years of various banking scandals, only one occasion comes to mind when power was quickly held to account. It was not, however, for the various overcharging issues or even the brazen attempts to rip tracker mortgages away from customers. It was the decision by AIB earlier this year to scrap cash services in half of its branches.
