And so begins the countdown to yet another major government announcement on the reopening of the country.

Two big decisions lie ahead in the coming days: allowing indoor dining and resuming international travel. Given the mood music emanating from government circles about the potential impact of the Delta variant of Covid-19, it is difficult to see one or certainly both of them being allowed to go ahead on the current projected timeline.
