Hundreds of vacant positions on charity boards

It has emerged that there are almost 300 vacancies on the boards of not-for-profits in Ireland, with recent criticism of the practices of some charities making individuals reluctant to put themselves forward.

Boardmatch has placed 1,600 non-executive directors on not-for-profit boards since 2014. It currently has more than 290 non-executive board vacancies waiting to be filled.

Of those positions, 60 require accounting/banking/auditing/finance skills, 35 seek administration/management skills, 32 need community development skills, 30 seek legal experience, 77 request communications/fundraising/marketing/sales...
