A mental health team outside Dublin recently declined a referral for a ten-year old boy. The child has suffered bereavement issues since the death of his father, his GP informed The Sunday Business Post.

Last year, the boy was intercepted trying to take his own life. The mental health team declined the referral, saying it had no child psychiatrist in place.
