Gardaí are investigating over €500,000 in alleged spending irregularities at a rural development company.

Meath Partnership was responsible for dispensing millions of euro of EU funding to rural development projects in the county.

The Department of the Environment drew up a report which found that €535,173 of payments made by the partnership to various projects were irregular.
