Gardaí drafted into Gsoc to help probe into Templemore funds

Five gardaí have been seconded to the resources-starved Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (Gsoc) to help with its inquiry into potential fraud at the Garda training college, prompting questions over the inquiry’s independence.

The gardaí have been tasked with taking statements, analysing documents and helping with a specialist fraud and financial investigation as part of the probe into possible fraud involving EU funding to Templemore.
