For his first official visit since the pandemic began, President Michael D Higgins chose to travel to Tiglin, a residential rehabilitation centre in Wicklow. The centre provides housing for people who have completed a rehabilitation programme for various addictions, including gambling.
The President followed up this visit with a strong statement ten days later on sports gambling advertising.
