Editorial: We ignore the IPCC’s reports on climate change at our peril

Of the many lessons climate change has taught us about the world we live in, perhaps the most consequential is humanity’s capacity for cognitive dissonance, the psychological state that allows people to behave one way, even if that behaviour stands in complete opposition to their beliefs.
