There is a whiff of mob rule about the political crisis that has befallen Britain. As the country prepares for a third prime minister in three months, the chaos inside the Conservative Party threatens all sense of unity, sanity and political decorum. In the grip of Brexit fantasies, libertarian mumbo jumbo and factional hatreds, the Tories have become an incoherent, out-of-control, bullying rabble clinging to the wreckage of their delusions.
