The football World Cup reaches its climax in Qatar today, when France and Argentina play the last game of a thrilling competition graced by outstanding goals, thrilling team displays and moments of individual brilliance. The crowds were terrific, there was zero trouble, and the stadiums looked spectacular – as they should, since building them cost an estimated $6 billion and the lives of many migrant workers.
