The decision by the brothers McEvaddy, Ulick and Des, to sell their share of 260 acres at Dublin Airport marks a blow for hopes of an independent third terminal.

Ulick McEvaddy’s statement to the Business Post that the DAA has “held up” and blocked his attempts to build an independent terminal at the airport for 27 years is a damning indictment of how state-backed monopolies can abuse their position.
