Dublin out as Galway, Limerick and Three Sisters on Capital of Culture shortlist

Three remaining regions now have until middle of 2016 to finish applications

Galway, Limerick, and the joint bid from Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny have been shortlisted for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2020, leaving Dublin out of the running.

The announcement was made today after a panel of experts evaluated the four applications over the course of a two-day meeting in Dublin.

The three remaining applicant regions now have until the middle of next year to complete their applications.
