Dublin councils to hand back €19m Metro North levies

Developers are set to get a refund of €19 million in development levies due to the government’s decision to revise the Metro North project.

Although the new €2.3 billion project will follow an almost identical 16.5 kilometre route from St Stephen’s Green to Dublin Airport and then Swords, it will have less tunnelling and fewer stations. As a result, new planning permission – a railway order – is required.
