A subsidiary of US vulture fund Cerberus has initiated legal action against high-profile solicitor Frank Buttimer in a row over a commercial property investment in the Netherlands.

It is understood that Buttimer, best known for representing Ian Bailey, is among a number of investors who may have lost money in a boom-time Ulster Bank project dating back to 2006.

The row revolves around the promotion of an investment scheme for an office block in the Hague.
