Bookmakers offering on-course betting at Dundalk racecourse have scored something of a pyrrhic victory in the Court of Appeal following a bitter and lengthy legal dispute with the track’s operators.

The three-judge court upheld an earlier finding by the High Court that the owners of the course, Dundalk Racing, breached a contractual deal with the bookmakers when they disregarded longstanding rules governing the allocation of ringside pitches in 2007.
