Bailey to face new extradition warrant from French authorities

The conviction of Ian Bailey, in absentia, for the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier has been hailed as a “win for justice” by a lawyer acting for the family of the film producer.

Bailey, who was not legally represented at the week long trial in Paris, was found guilty of the 1996 killing in Co Cork by three judges last Friday and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
