AIB backs Hall mortgage debt buyout deal for distressed borrowers

Bank tells customers they may be eligible for scheme

AIB has written to about 3,000 customers telling them they may be eligible for a new mortgage-to-rent scheme being run by debt ors’ rights advocate David Hall.

The bank said some 325 of its distressed borrowers had moved into the process of completing a financial questionnaire and 50 customers had been identified as being suitable for the scheme. A further 50 people will be moved into other forbearance measures.
