UTV shareholders approve €142 million sale of television business
Decision is made at extraordinary general meeting in London
UTV shareholders have approved the £100m (€142m) sale of its television business to ITV.
At an extraordinary general meeting in London, on overwhelming 99.8% of votes were in favour of the sale.
It will see UTV return a minimum of £40m (€56.8m) to its shareholders.
As part of the deal ITV – subject to regulatory approval – will take control of UTV Ireland, which was launched here in January.
