Unemployment rate stands at 8.4 per cent for April

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for April 2016 was 8.4 per cent, down from 8.6 per cent in March.

The figure is down from 9.7 per cent in April 2015. The seasonally adjusted number ofpersons unemployed was 183,700 in April, a decrease of 3,700 when compared to the March figure or a decrease of 25,700 when compared to April 2015.
