Last Wednesday, Maurice Keane, the former chief executive of Bank of Ireland, celebrated his 75th birthday. After a distinguished banking career, Keane was appointed by the state to the board of IBRC, then called Anglo Irish Bank, in the days after the bank was nationalised in January 2009.
