Taxman under siege as politicians lobby over 1,700 times
Two-thirds of all representations were made to the Collector General
Ministers, senators and councillors have been clogging up the taxman’s inbox with their constituents’ woes as the Revenue Commissioners were lobbied more than 1,700 times last year.
Two-thirds of all representations were made to the Collector General – the taxman’s debt collector. Its office received 1,174 representations in 2015, according to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act.
