Large swathes of England were engulfed by a foul-smelling gas cloud which wafted over from a Warren Buffet owned factory in France, according to reports today.

Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway group owns the French company that is said to be the source of a bad smell in England today.

The emergency services and the National Grid fielded thousands of calls from people in Kent, Sussex and Surrey, the Press Association reported. The smell was caused by a discharge of the gas mercaptan from a factory in the northern city of Rouen drifted across the English Channel.
