Swiss software firm to invest €16 million in Irish operations, creating 100 jobs

SoftwareOne has announced plans to invest €16 million in expanding its Irish operations which will lead to the creation of 100 new jobs over the next three years.

Most of the new jobs will be in Dublin, where the company is opening a new office in Blanchardstown. The jobs range from positions for developers and test engineers to roles in finance, sales and administration.

"Today's announcement by SoftwareOne once again endorses Ireland's position as a thriving global tech hub,"IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan said.

The Swiss-based software company, which has 3,000 employees in 82 countries, has been in Ireland since 2011, when it opened an office in Mahon,Co. Cork.

"We are all aware that cloud computing is a huge growth area and this company is at the cutting edge of this exciting development," Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O'Connor said. "SoftwareOne's expansion builds on our success in developing a thriving software sector in Ireland over recent years following our investment in developing appropriate skills."
