Soon after the government was formed, a local paper in the southeast reported that Independent TD John Halligan had delivered on cardiac care for his constituency.

Halligan, Waterford Today reported, had signed off on a “groundbreaking deal” that would ensure the extension of cardiac services and the provision of a second cath lab for Waterford Hospital.
