Shannon Airport has formally backed plans by Norwegian Air International (NAI) to operate services between Ireland and the US.

The airport's parent company Shannon Group has sent a submission to the US Department of Transport backing NAI's application for a foreign carrier permit that would enable it to start services between the US and Ireland, including Shannon Airport.
