Renua Ireland leader Lucinda Creighton has pledged to move new public sector workers onto cheaper pensions.

Her party’s election manifesto, which was published today, states that it will replace the current defined benefit pension for public servants, which usually is with 50 per cent of final salary. Instead there will be a defined contribution scheme which is based on the value of contributions made.
