New car figures up 20 per cent so far this year

Official figures show that 22,462 new cars were licensed in July, an increase of 5.5 per cent compared with the same month last year. The Central Statistics Office said new car sales for the first seven months of 2016 are up 20 per cent on the same period last year, at 119,952. This figure is close to the

121,110 new cars registered in the whole of last year.
