Irish boxers should go pro in US, says ex-world champion

But McCullough warns they’ll start on the back foot

Former WBC world bantamweight champion Wayne McCullough is a trainer living in Los Angeles

Former Olympic silver medalist and boxing world champion Wayne McCullough has urged Ireland’s Olympic boxers to turn professional.

McCullough, who went professional in 1993, is currently living and training in Los Angeles, and said that several Irish boxers could be well suited to the professional game.
