Craft beer takes bigger share of Irish market

The body which represents the Irish brewing industry has said beer production in Ireland rose last year for the first time since 2011, despite a slight fall in consumption.

The Irish Brewers Association (IBA) today published its annual Beer Market Report for Ireland, which showed a six per cent increase in production last year.

Irish beer exports were up 16 per cent and were worth more than €265 million while 43 per cent of beer produced in Ireland was exported. The IBA saidthe craft beer revolution was continuing, with an estimated two per cent of total beer market share in 2015, up from 1.2 per cent in 2014.
