Income tax reaches second highest figure in history of state

Near record receipts 7.8 per cent ahead of target

Income tax receipts came to €45.79 billion in 2015 - up 10.6 per cent on 2014 and the second highest figure in the history of the state.

Today's Revenue Commissioners’ annual report revealed receipts were 7.8 per cent ahead of target. It said Exchequer returns were boosted by strong trading, increased domestic consumption and investment.
