Renua Ireland president Eddie Hobbs has warned that he will quit the party if it starts trying to appeal to “insiders” in the public sector.

Although Hobbs had a low-profile role in the party’s unsuccessful general election campaign, his longstanding criticisms of the 300,000-strong public sector were brought up with candidates on the doorsteps.
