The HSE must be held responsible for maladministration at the charities it funds, the healthcare regulator has said.

In hard-hitting comments, Phelim Quinn, the chief executive of Hiqa, said the HSE must be held “legally, and morally responsible” for how public funds are spent. “Accountability must lie with the entity that not only provides, but also procures the service,” he said.
