Germany’s Mosel region is practically unknown by wine lovers outside its native land, and yet it draws upon a 2,000-year history of winemaking.

Mosel’s long affiliation with winemaking dates back to the time when Trier, the capital of the region, was a northern capital of the Roman Empire. One of the most famous Roman winemakers, Ausonius, tutored the Roman emperor, Gratian, in the city.
