Irish Olympic boxing heroes Kenny Egan and Mick Dowling have questioned whether professional boxing should be banned from the National Stadium because of problems with gangsterism and thuggery.

In the wake of last weekend’s Regency Hotel shooting, Egan and Dowling said the Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) should weigh up whether to hire out its stadium on Dublin’s South Circular Road for future professional bouts.
