Euro zone inflation was 0.2% in August

Euro zoneinflation failed to accelerate in August, adding to signs that the area’s economic outlook deteriorated ahead of a European Central Bank meeting next week.

Consumer prices rose 0.2 per cent in August from a year earlier, the European Union’s statistics office in Luxembourg said. The medium estimate in a Bloomberg survey was for an increase of 0.3 per cent.
