The current housing crisis is a failure of the Labour Party dating back to the 1974 Kenny Report.

The rationale for the Action Plan for Housing has striking parallels with the Kenny Report, but the recommendations are remarkably different.

A Fianna Fáil minister for local government commissioned the Kenny Report in 1970. Bobby Molloy commenced the report in response to Ireland’s demographic revolution which caused a severe shortage of serviced land for housing.
