The legal profession make an easy scapegoat for why the cost of car insurance has surged in the last few years: opaque settlements agreed on the steps of the Four Courts; fees that aren’t agreed in advance. And truth be told, the legal industry likes it that way, as the tab ultimately gets picked up by a large corporation.
