Cash-rich Dragon considers bid for insolvent rival Petroceltic

All potential bids must be lodged with the examiner in the coming days

Dragon Oil, the Dublin-listed exploration company, is weighing up a bid for Petroceltic, the insolvent Irish oil explorer currently under the control of a court-appointed examiner.

Dragon Oil, a cash-rich explorer with production assets off Turkmenistan, bid for Petroceltic in 2014, and is now considering another offer.

All potential bids must be lodged with the Petroceltic’s examiner, accountant Michael McAteer, in the coming days.
