Ashford Castle is placed into receivership
Luxury hotel Ashford Castle has been placed into receivership, according to a statement from the newly appointed receiver Ernst & Young.
Luke Charleton and David Hughes of Ernst & Young have been appointed as joint receivers to the Mayo hotel.
“The hotel is recognised as one of the leading hotels in Europe and the purpose of the appointment is to ensure that the operations of the hotel continue without any interruption to guests, staff and suppliers,” the statement said.
The receivers will have access to the necessary funding to maintain and, if necessary, enhance the current high standards of the hotel, the statement said.
“It is the receivers’ intention that the hotel continues to trade as a going concern for the foreseeable future. In this regard it will business as normal with all employment being maintained, suppliers being retained, and full commitment to the scheduled Christmas programme for the hotel,” it said.
All events booked with the Hotel will go ahead as normal and deposits paid will be honoured, according to the statement.
