The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is underway this week and promises a programme of creative inspiration, celebration, education and networking - with over 15,000 delegates from over 100 countries.

Today director of group transformation (Core Media) and managing director of Starcom, Geoff McGrath, shares his five reasons why Irish businesses must attend this festival.

1. To support the festival that champions creativity

Businesses must continue to see creativity as a primary and differentiating commercial tool. There is a well proven and documented correlation between award-winning creative and commercial success. A report by the IPA in the UK, which studied creative work over the past ten years, shows that creatively awarded campaigns are 11 times more efficient at growing market share. As such, it is vital that we maintain a clear and comprehensive understanding on what excellence looks like at a global level. This is why we are committed to, and will continue to be, making such an investment withthe Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
